The French Press is one of our favorite brew methods, particularly on a chilly morning (like today) while wearing cozy (maybe even fuzzy) slippers and making a hearty breakfast. ☕ 🥞 We prefer a slightly finer grind and a faster brew, resulting in a sweet, clear cup with exquisite complexity.
We reached out to our Lab Assistant (aka ☕️👨🔬) and Lead Barista Trainer, Jared, and asked what his favorite coffee in a French Press is.
"Ironically, I just had the Rio Azul in a French Press this morning. Deep maple sweetness, with lively acidity to keep the coffee from feeling heavy and sludgy like a French Press can tend to be. The added body from the brewing method gives a nice texture to the brew too, which plays well with the deep sweetness"
