We've been treating ourselves to iced coffee in the lab pretty often these days. And we're particularly keen on this flash brew recipe because it captures the essence of one of our favorite new coffees on the menu. Our Idido Tiluse Honey Process has notes of clementine, apricot, and honeysuckle — and each one of them is shining in this cup!
FLASH BREW WITH ETHIOPIA IDIDO TILUSE HONEY PROCESS
30 grams coffee (ground to table salt sized)
320 grams water at 205 degrees
Carafe for brewing
Carafe with 120 grams ice
Hario V60 Dripper and filter
Brew into the empty carafe
Bloom: 90 grams for 1 minute - stir with spoon to fully saturate grounds
At 1:00 pour to 200 grams water
At 1:40 pour to 320 grams water
Total Brew Time 3:20 to 4:00 (adjust with grind size to reach this target)
First, pour into carafe with about half the ice and swirl to allow dilution and cool down, then pour into your serving vessel with the rest of the ice.
