Our Customer Support and Education Specialist, Trevor Gruehn, is a hell of coffee brewer, and he’s looking for some competition. That’s just what he’s found at this year’s USBC Brewers Cup. For those that don’t know, the Brewers Cup is “meant to recognize and celebrate the art of manual coffee brewing.” In round one of the competition, all competitors brew the same coffee and advance to the finals based on their score doled out by a panel of professional tasters. In the finals, competitors present and brew a coffee of their choosing, usually the crème de la crème of the current harvest, brewed as well as they can in an effort to wow the judges. Right now, Trevor is assessing potential competition coffees, specially sourced by our co-owner and coffee buyer, Caleb Nicholes. The Brewers Cup and US Barista Championships are in Seattle on April 24-27. You can follow the action at uscoffeechampionships.org.
Good luck, Trevor
