Come visit us in Seattle!

Every year we count down the days until the Specialty Coffee Association’s annual Coffee Expo. The Expo gives us a chance to meet up with our customers and friends, swap stories, pull shots, and engage with the critical questions facing the specialty coffee industry.

The Kickapoo crew will be out in full force, so check out our highlights below to make sure you catch us!

FRIDAY, APRIL 20

9-10:15 a.m. / Caleb Nicholes / The Carbon Footprint of Coffee: Mitigation Strategies for Roasters
With a long and complex supply chain, coffee often comes with a large carbon footprint. Kickapoo Coffee's co-owner, Caleb Nicholes, will participate in a panel discussion with other industry peers to explore how carbon emissions throughout the coffee supply chain can be measured and sequestered. Caleb will speak to Kickapoo’s work to mitigate our ecological impact, as well as solutions for roasters and cafes to offset their carbon footprints by investing in voluntary carbon credits.

SATURDAY, APRIL 21

9-10:15 a.m. / TJ Semanchin / Laying the Groundwork for a Living Income: Strategies Across the Supply Chain
Producing higher quality coffee – and more of it – does not necessarily result in higher incomes for coffee farmers. TJ Semanchin, co-owner of Kickapoo Coffee, will take part in a panel discussion that will explore the economic challenges and stark financial realities faced by coffee-farming families. As a company that prides ourselves on putting farmers first, TJ will speak to Kickapoo’s work supporting coffee-farming families and our radical #RaisetheBar campaign, along with the numerous ways we continue to push ourselves and the industry to support our farming partners.

12:15-1:45 p.m. / Alex Stoffregen / Nuova Simonelli Booth
Alex Stoffregen, our Lab, Sourcing, and Education Coordinator, will be serving up Kickapoo Coffee shots at the Simonelli booth. Stop by to chat with one of our brightest (and nerdiest) and taste some of our favorite brews.

8 p.m-Midnight / Kickapoo Coffee & Coop Coffees' Friends / Open Mic Night
Join us for a fundraiser event hosted by Cooperative Coffees at La Marzocco Cafe/KEXP Station for On the Ground's sustainable development in the DR Congo. There will be free beer and pizza and friends rocking out for a good cause. Need we say more?

SUNDAY, APRIL 22

11-12:30 p.m. / Alex Stoffregen / La Marzocco Booth

Alex will be serving up Kickapoo Coffee shots with our friends at the La Marzocco booth.
